Difference between Power Washing and Soft Washing

»Posted by on Jan 7, 2021 in Power Washing | 0 comments

If you’re just an ordinary homeowner, you’re probably thinking about the right way to clean your home. When it comes to cleaning your property’s surfaces, you’ve got two options. These are pressure washing and soft washing. These two methods aren’t the same. Though they’re both used to wash your property, it is crucial to understand their differences.

For instance, you might compromise the integrity of a particular surface if you’re utilizing power washing in Sarasota to get rid of dirt. On the other hand, you might not get rid of tough stains if you use the soft washing method.

Soft Washing

The ideal method to get rid of surface contaminants is soft washing. It is commonly used to effectively and safely get rid of dirt, mildew, algae, and mold. This method only utilizes safe pressure. Furthermore, to effectively get rid of contaminants, it greatly relies on high-quality cleaning agents. In general, this method delivers water and the cleaning agents at lower pressure but higher volume.

Soft washing is ideal for concrete that’s less than 3 years old. The reason for this is that it ensures the surface’s integrity isn’t compromised while cleaning. If you want to clean your roof, you might need a washing method that is gentler than soft washing. This type of washing typically utilizes a less diluted form of cleaning agents. Soft washing is generally the ideal method if you’re thinking about regular cleaning of your newer concrete, roof, deck, or house.

Power Washing

From the name itself, power washing utilizes extreme pressure to clean durable surfaces with tough stains and contaminants. In general, power washing is commonly utilized to get rid of the stain or loose paint. People usually power wash a surface whenever they will apply a new layer of stain or paint. However, if done improperly, power washing the deck or siding of your house can end up damaging the surfaces. That’s one of the major disadvantages of power washing.

Power washing is ideal if you want to prepare a surface, such as aluminum, for paint. However, if you aren’t planning to paint the surface afterward, power washing is not the recommended method. The reason for this is that power washing can eliminate the finish of the surface.

Power washing is also recommended for concrete more than 3 years old. However, you still have to use it properly. Finally, power washing is not advisable if you want to clean the roof. The reason for this is that the shingles might get damaged. This will nullify the warranty on your roof.

To make things simple, you can use power washing if:

  • Your concrete is more than 3 years old.
  • You want to prepare your deck for a new layer of stain.
  • You want to prepare your siding for a new layer of paint.
  • You want to get rid of loose paint from your siding.

If you want to make sure that nothing goes wrong, you can always hire a power washing service provider to do the job for you.

How to Get Back into the Gym

»Posted by on Nov 11, 2020 in Lose weight | 0 comments

A lot of people have not been able to keep up with their fitness routine, between at-home workout tools being in rare supply and stay-at-home rules knocking people out of their regimen.

Fortunately, we’re here to help. If you are getting back into the gym after the quarantine break, we’re going to share with you a couple of tips that will help you start crushing your goals safely and overcome your workouts, from doing the right moves to using musclenation products.

Also, you shouldn’t worry if you’re starting out, you can still use these tips.

Capitalize on Technology

There are a lot of gyms out there that are slowly expanding into the digital realm to meet their clients wherever they’re located. You can utilize digital applications when working out from home or getting back into the gym.

You can listen to a professional and certified trainer that will take you through your workout routine without actually meeting them in person. This is a great feature, especially with social distancing being the norm.

Perform the Correct Moves

According to professionals, bodyweight workouts are a lot safer compared to weighted workouts. This is particularly true if you are starting a workout routine or getting back into the gym.

You should not perform any isolated workouts at the start. Every person wants to perform shoulder raises and bicep curls and all those things where you are doing a single joint at a time. However, professionals suggest doing compound movements. For instance, instead of leg extensions, you can start with squats.

Also, you should begin with higher reps at a lower weight if you want to add weight. Next, from there, slowly build up. You’ve got to condition your tendons first. This also helps prevent ligament straining.

Go Easy on Yourself Both Mentally and Physically

Whenever you are first getting back into the gym, your body might feel like it has been in hibernation mode. Though that is completely normal, you should remember this when choosing the intensity and duration of your exercises. It might take several constant weeks to establish back your endurance and strength.

When it comes to fitness, it is crucial to listen to what your body tells you. You’ve got to respect what it requires. Before you took a break from the gym, do you have a preferred routine? You can still do it, but you’ve got to do fewer reps. Try performing your workouts a little slower than you would have before the break.

Spend More Time Cooling Down and Warming Up

The significance of taking time to warm up your body properly before a serious exercise and cool it down afterward is vital. However, this is more important if you are getting back into the gym. Warming up properly gets oxygen and blood flowing to your ligaments, muscles, and joints. These are the parts that you will be using a lot during your exercise. This is vital for preventing injury and getting the most out of your exercise. Thus, you’ve got to keep this in mind.

Gas Water Heater Maintenance Tips and Tricks

»Posted by on Jun 6, 2019 in Heater Maintenance | 0 comments

If you own a gas water heater, then you should know of the ways that you can do to maintain its good working condition. All types of water heaters need maintenance so that it functions for a long time. But more importantly, doing so is entirely for your own safety.

Gas Water Heater Maintenance

To start with proper gas water heater maintenance, you have to check where the device’s pressure relief valve is. This is a safety device that is found in both electric and gas water heater. The valve opens if the tank is getting over pressurized to release some of the pressure. If it fails to do this, then the too much pressure inside the tank can cause it to explode.

How to Check the Pressure Valve

To check pressure valve, make sure that you turn off the gas switch or put it in the pilot. Then, you have to shut off the pipe that supplies cold water into the tank. Now you’re ready to release the pressure. But before you do that, be sure to put a bucket under the valve. The bucket is designed to catch the water that will be released once you lift the valve.

To lift the valve, simply pull the trip the lever. When you do that, you’ll hear a rush of air. You should also see vapour and water exiting through the valve. In case you don’t see these things, you have to drain all the tank’s content and find a replacement for the valve.

Tips for Flushing the Tank

Flushing the tank is an important Palm Harbor Plumbing process that every owner should do. Do note that sediment may build up inside the tank and that is the reason for your water heater’s reduced energy efficiency. Worse, they are also the reasons why your water lines get clogged. To flush the tank, you should first make sure that the gas switch is off or on a pilot.

Next, shut off the coldwater supply to the tank. Find a suitable garden hose and connect it to the drain valve of the tank. Find a good drain for the other end of the hose where you can dispose of the hot water from the tank. Be sure that the drain can withstand the effect of the very hot water coming out of the hose.

Draining the Tank

Once the hose is all set up, lift open the pressure relief valve, followed by the drain valve. Wait until the tank has drained all its contents completely. By doing so, you’re sure that all sediments inside the tank are removed.

After the entire content of the tank has been drained, it’s time to close the drain valve, disconnect the hose, and close the pressure relief valve. Open the hot water stoppers and inlet that allows cold water into the tank. As the water starts to flow into the tank, close the hot water stoppers one by one. Once when all the stoppers are closed, you can turn on the gas switch.
